Early autumn is nice, before the leaves fall off the trees, but I'm with you - I hate the cold and death of the seasons, too.  Not to mention the high heating prices! 

My favorite is the Spring and Summer too, rather than the cold and death of Fall and Winter. However, I must remind myself often that there can be no "resurrection" without death.
